On May 6, 2017, we hosted an event to benefit The Friends of Jacob Foundation. The Friends of Jacob Foundation is a Michigan based charity enriching the lives of families affected by Autism Spectrum disorders by providing GRANTS for financial assistance to help with therapeutic interventions, medical bills, SOCIALIZATION activities and SUPPORT networks. They have organized and hosted various events to bring together families dealing with similar issues as well as provide other resources and support to families, school districts and the community. Since their inception, The Friends of Jacob Foundation has granted over $100,000 to help families all over Michigan with financial assistance for medical bills, therapy, equipment and respite care.
We kicked off the day with a one hour Yoga class. After yoga, we held three workouts- Kids, Beginner, and Advanced. With over 60 participants, the atmosphere made the workouts fun and intense! While the workouts were taking place, attendees were able to donate to the cause through a variety of other avenues. There was a 50/50 raffle, as well as a raffle of donated gift packages ranging from Switch memberships/apparel to a “cooler of cheer”! Event t-shirts were also on hand for purchase.
Once the workouts were wrapped up, lunch was provided and the winners of the raffles were announced. Keith, a founder of the Friends of Jacob Foundation, made a short speech about the services that they provide and the impact that the fundraiser would make on the families that the foundation assists. We are happy to announce that we were able to raise over $2,600.00 to benefit the Friends of Jacob Foundation. Thank you so much to those that were able to participate and/or donate to the cause!
